cheesecake thumbprints cookies

since we got some cream cheese leftover…decided to make these in the martha baking handbook

1. beat 4 ounces of cream cheese at room temperature till light and fluffy
2. add 1/4 cup sugar and a pinch of salt beat until smooth

3. add 1 egg yolk, 1 1/2 teaspoon sour cream, and 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth, transfer into a small bowl and refrigerate for about 30 minutes
4. beat 2 sticks unsalted butter, 1/4 cup sugar until combined, add 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1 egg yolk, beat till combined

5. slowly add 2 cups all purpose flour until just combined
6. shape dough into balls

7. make an indentation into the ball using your thumb
8. bake at 350 deg F for 10mins, remove and make indentation again and bake for another 7 minutes or until the edges begin to turn golden

9. let the cookies cool completely…then spoon in the cheesecake mixture…bake for another 7 minutes until the center is firm

sam was cooking so i told him to take the cookies out when the timer goes off while i do laundry…he forgot n left the cookies in the oven until i went to check on them…so they were a little bite burnt…his claim…he was busy cooking…oh wellz…
